Afterlife

I could feel my heart racing across my chest, until it stopped

Like a bicycle chain rubbing against the axle, until it spins off

As a dead rat carcass being devoured by countless insects

Taking life out of my heart, feasting on my warm pink flesh

My body doesn't respond anymore, how hard I try, it's just frozen

The anasthetic has lasted too long now, wearing off taking my soul along

That one loose screw on the top, struggling to keep it together

It gave up on my life, and now I welcome you to my afterlife
