Shiuli from October | #NaPoWriMo2020 | Prompt 11
Character: Shiuli from October
They named me Shiuli, after the flower
That blossoms and withers in a flash
How could they expect me to live forever?
I used to collect them in my childhood
You can't pluck them, only pick up when they fall
But there was nobody to pick me when I fell
They put in hours of relentless energy
To infuse life in a body dead as a vegetable
Dan came as a curious surprise to me
I still wonder why an irritated, arrogant guy like him
Would take care of me with unparalleled devotion
I think he wanted to ask me something
Something I couldn't answer when I was almost alive
I didn't realise when Dan became my habit
I started looking forward to Shiuli brought by him
It's fragrance caused a little disturbance in me
Wanting to get up and make garlands of it all over again
But what's inevitable has to be accepted, sooner or later
Yet I thank Dan, for making my fragrance linger
As two lifeless souls lived through each other
