Do you have illusions too? | #NaPoWriMo2020 | Prompt 6
Prompt: Use sunlight, damage and barmecidal in a poem
Do you have illusions too?
When the sunlight shines it's gold
Don't you rethink all your love and worth
Tell me, if that is an illusion or dearth?
I've loved, enough, and more than enough
Thinking this is how it ought to be
This is it, my dreams touch cloud nine here
My destiny awaits me to confine here
But you don't realise damage until it's done
The damage when being alive kills you more
Until it has ripped through your skin and skull
Until brain freeze has made your aura dull
It reminds me of the hollowness I bred
Now when the sunlight shines it's gold
For sometimes, love isn't enough, it's null
Turns out I was just another sad barmecidal
